Back Online

It is hard to believe that August 28 was the last posting here, exactly two months have passed. There was a decent excuse however. We lost connection to the wireless web that we got used to over the Summer and it took a bit longer for the local cable/internet provider to hook us up.
The web is now back in our possession and it is time to do some housekeeping and catching up. In the last two months the seasons have changed here in Minnesota. On August 28 it was warm and this morning it is chilly, Winter is not far. The leaves have nearly all fallen and the house we live in looks a bit different from the outside without all the green.
We continue to enjoy visitors, some of my family members made the trip from Eastern WI last weekend. More friends are due to visit from Madison and New Jersey in November. We enjoyed our first sushi party in the new house a few weeks ago and plan another one before the end of the year.
The job is decent, with some recent hiring of two new scientists, I feel there is less scrutiny of my presence at the lab and a bit more freedom with my projects. I continue to be busy with work and enjoy the weekend time free.
I am also excited about the upcoming elections. The district we live in is likely to send Kieth Ellison to congress. Ellison will be the first black man sent to congress from Minnesota and he will be the first Muslim ever sent to congress. The republicans have tried in vain to establish Ellison as soft on terror and all other smears they can come up with, but the district is so heavily liberal that it would be surprising if he did not win.
Hopefully the blog will be more current in the next weeks and glad to be back.
