Earlier this week, I read an article, Justice is unequal in sex abuse in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The article was about how pedophiles who abuse members of their own family are often sentenced to lighter punishments than other pedophiles.

In the comments section, a woman wrote a comment that she and her family are living through this nightmare and she posted a link to her blog. (That comment now appears to have been removed from the Star Tribune Web site.)

I have spent many many hours in the past two days reading the last 6 months of this woman's blog... and I am amazed at how she and her family are surviving and coping with the fallout from the actions of the abuser.

This woman is an amazing writer, and she does not hesitate to use profanity, so if you are easily offended this is probably not for you. However, if you wish to read her ongoing testament to surviving incest, you can find her blog at doingduluthmn.blogspot.com/. Scroll down the page until you see the link to "In The Beginning"

Again, this is not an easy or quick read, proceed with caution.

Thanks for posting about the Debbie Does Duluth site. I thought I could hop over and have a "quick" look around her blog but it's so compelling to read, her voice is so clear it's almost like being in the room with her. What an amazing, forthright person... I am glad for voices like hers. Thanks again.

I agree totally with connie. She writes with simplicity and straightforwardness to a point often verging on the profound. Additionally, she writes so WELL, and that's a rare and satisfying treat nowadays.
